John F. Hamlin and Graham M. Simons
Built during the RAF Expansion Scheme of the 1930s, Bassingbourn
was used by light bomber squadrons before being taken over by
the US 8th Air Force. After the war, Bassingbourn reverted to
RAF use and ended its days as an Operational Conversion Unit with
Canberra aircraft.
